The Adventures of TINTIN – The Secret Of The Unicorn

With Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Cary Elwes, Kim Stengel

Written by Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish (based on the comic book series of Hergé)

Directed by Steven Spielberg

Whether you got to see this in 3D or regular 2D, either way this movie is quite a spectacular adaptation of Hergé's popular comic book series. Many hardcore fans of the original books (including myself) were weary at this realistic animated take on the characters, but it is pulled of masterfully.

After Tintin purchases a model boat, the investigative journalist gets entangled in a mysterious and deadly plot which leads to his meeting of Captain Barnacle, unveiling his history and involvement in the mystery that has many interested parties who will stop at nothing, crossing their path. With good plot set-ups, crazy action (on land, sea and in the air), mad humour and amazing digital production, this is very far from a failure.

Using motion capture technology for the actors and teaming up with Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson's Weta special digital effects company in New Zealand, the film-makers go beyond realism in creating this world that incorporates many of the well known Tintin elements and characters along the way (like indispensables characters Snowy the dog and the Thompson Twins).
